87 Monte Carlo motor died will not start have changed coil and ignition mod. no pwr to coil

When you say no power to coil did you check the plug to see if they fire? How did you find that the coil had no power?

This will fall in to the wiring! Check you grounds, maybe a melted wire....could be alot of things!

I suggest you check your crank sensor, this is what sends the signal for your coil to fire.If this fails it's your computer

87 montes dont have a crank sensor unless this is a non ss model with the 4.3 fuel injection... if its the 305, i'd check the wiring harness and the fuses..

had simmilar problem with 87 fire- bird.it was in the distributor a bad wire.replaced distributor and fixed problem.I could not find it myself though I had to have the darn thing diognosed.The newer they are the harder we fall.Cars are weird.
