What do you guys think about the pacesetter headers for a 2001 pontiac grand am 2.4liter? Think they are worth the money. How about under drive pulleys?? Think i'll feel the difference??

Re: Pacesetter headers
The headers will certainly improve performance since they usually add about 10 hp to any car. As far as the underdrive pulleys go, if you were racing the car they may be worth the expense but I doubt you will see much power increase on the street.

Re: Pacesetter headers
But with the pulleys, wont I accelerate faster? I also want to throw in a racing clutch, so with the clutch and the pulleys, I think it'll move quicker.

The drawback to going with a racing clutch is this: A racing clutch (if you can find one that fits) is that it has much heavier springs, resulting in faster engagement of the clutch. It also puts more strain on the system, meaning you will end up needing to replace the clutch master cylinder which is a real joy to do -- just look where it is and how much room there is to move a wrench and your hands around in there. Plus you will need a heavier flywheel to go with that clutch to take the abuse stiffer release springs will give it. Seriously, if you are not strictly racing this car, its not worth it to put in a racing clutch or underdrive pullies, the little gain you will get is not worth the amount of money it will cost you, never mind the time and labor for installing all of it.
