Check Engine Light

How can i Check ECU codes manually on my CRX. Somebody said that Under the passenger side dash there green cover that houses a blue connector if you short circuit these than the check engine light will flickker the # of long & short flicks will be the ECU Code. I tried to find the connector on my 89 CRX but couldn't. Can somebody throw some light on this?

This is the E/T/L forum. We don't know anything about your car. Go post in the honda forum.
