My 96 Voyager 3.0 V6 has service engine light on. Checked codes via turning key off and on three times and got a code 11. Sometimes the light will go off and stay off for a couple of days and then come back on.Van also jerks or missfires at highways every know and then. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Service Engine Light
For the 3.0Liter engine: code 11: No ignition reference signal detected during cranking (bad Hall effect) OR timing belt skipped one or more teeth;
In your case, this most likely means the signal for firing a cylinder is not occurring rather than a skipped timing belt. That signal comes from a magnetic pickup inside the distributor when the magnetized rotor passes by the pickup. A second simplier reason for this would be that you have a bad connection (the signal is probably lost at the PCM). |
