DO i have to replace everything?

:o Nope not true but that only depends on what you want to do!

For Ex: I just installed an Excelon deck in my wifes G20t 2000 the only thing's I put in besides the deck was a wiring harness, an adapter for the antenna & I custom made the adapter kit for the deck to fill in the gaps, as far ass I know no one makes a kit for the G I kept going to all the stereo shops Baddguys Cicuitsucks Best ripoffs & other shops every one looked at me basicly like that I dunno what would fit I tried the one in my pathfinder & it look cheesy so I made one out of the brackets that are on the bose stereo & some Black plexi glass.

It goes very well with the car & makes the deck look that much prettier in there!:licker:

BTW the tweets & door speakers are handling the extra power quit nicely sounds cleean my wife now want's the BASSSSSS!

Well to correctly install a deck you need a line level output convertor, your factory deck sends low level (similar to RCA outputs) to your amp - otherwise overtime your amp will no pun intended, will "go up in smoke."
Now if you do that you have a new head unit in.... But say you want to forget about the amp and bypass it next problem becomes speakers, they are a wierd resistance (1 or 2 ohms, not sure, all bose systems are different and I havent torn my g apart YET). So 99% of aftermarket heads will power them for a while, but the increased heat due to the impedance of the speaker being lower will cause the deck to fry.......
Just a few things to keep in mind.

Yep That is a good point MBGride has got for yall, it be ok for a while but not a permanent thing.

After all a whole upgrade is better than bits and pieces, if you can't afford it do little things, then when the cash flows get it all done & please do it right you get what you pay for especially in the stereo biz!

A liitle reference piont I go with start with a high end deck then work your way to the back, Also keep in mind technology is advancing in leaps & bounds & your deck in a year or to might look like your x.

If you want a colorful headunit buy one with front, rear, and subwoofer RCA outputs. That way you can retain your factory speakers and amps, and easily add a subwoofer. Clarion makes a few of these headunits. Panasonic, IMHO, is your best choice for sound, they are expensive but very good.
