97 Dodge Caravan A/C, sliding door, radio problem

I just bought a 97 Caravan yesterday. The a/c worked great, ice cold. Well it still does, but now only works when the blower switch is set to high. I did check the other positions before buying, all worked except low. I'm wondering if this could be a electrical/wiring problem? Have noticed a couple of other weird things already. Sometimes the driver side sliding door will unlock with keyless entry and sometimes it does not. Any clues there? Also the FM portion of the radio worked and now it tunes FM when it wants. I still have 48hrs to return (due to buyer remorse law). Should I return it?

If you want to keep it then have them fix the problems , the fan problem is probably the blower motor resistor , fairly common problem on this era van , about $70 to have a dealer fix it . If they can't fix the raDIO then you are better going aftermarket for a replacement , a lot cheaper .

Thanks for the reply, Viper. When you say resistor, are you reffering to the blower motor relay located in the underhood fuse box? Would this also be considered the Aux. Blower relay? I called O'Reilly's and they only show one relay and it is referred to as an Aux relay. If this is it, it's only $6.29. As far as the radio is concerned, I have verified short inside radio. Will try and repair myself due to it being the Infinity/Premium model as well as maintaining orginal look. If not, aftermarket it is. Also to update on the sliding door, removed battery cable for 30 minutes and reconnected and now appears to be okay. Can you confuse the system by manually unlocking sliding door when it has been locked via keyless? Just a thought.

Viper,

Nevermind on the resistor/relay question. I have determined that they are two different parts. To those who don't know, the resistor block is located in the right rear (passenger side) of the engine compartment. $18.56 at the local dealership. Going to put it in this evening. Will let you know how it goes. I would have the dealer I bought it from fix it, but they are 60 miles away. It's not worth the gas. Besides, got a great deal on it. 78K, fully loaded, leather, CD Changer, one owner old lady trade-in for $4,400.

Viper,

Thanks for the info. It was in fact the resistor. Replaced and all is well. You know your stuff!!

Thanks,
Sparky
