Check engine light!!
Hey I got a pretty good post for you guys. I don't think my check engine light works, so I'd like to conduct a test. What's a quick, harmless, and safe way to trigger a CEL ( that won't stay on forever either). Hahah, i knew you guys would like this.

Re: Check engine light!!
You can't just unplug something and start it and get a cel, you have to get up to op temp and there are certain other requirement that need to be met (rpms and speed) I'd say fogure out something that wont have any ill effects (like egr or something) and run it for a few days, even then you can't be sure it's not working.

Re: Check engine light!!
How about unplugging the BCS harness? That should give a CEL, shouldn't it?
