Cigarette lighter help

Hi folks,

I've got a '94 toyota pickup with no cigarette lighter installed -- just the plastic cap where it should be. Is this something i can get and install easily myself? any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Re: Cigarette lighter help

Yes, it is easy to install. Look at your wiring diagram to determine what plug to use. If you buy the lighter from the dealer, it just snaps into the dash and plugs into the wiring harness. Auto parts stores have generic ones that sell for about 1/4 of the price the dealer charges. With the generic one you may have to change the connectors.

Re: Cigarette lighter help

You will find wiring diagrams in repair manuals (usually cost about $20- at your local parts store or dealer). If you don't want to buy one, you can go to your local library and make a copy.
