Talking My new Civic

Yes, thats right, I just purchased a Civic yesterday night. It is a 1993 Honda Civic CX with 163,000km (for a 93, thats freakin good). The interior is in perfect shape and so is the engine, just teh body needs a bit of repair forf 5 rust spots. Either way the car is red so I was gonna repaint it so I'll get teh rust fixed at the same time. I receive teh car on wednesday, so by wednesday night or Thursday I should be able to post up pics. And I paid the car $2000 hands down for any of you wonderign how much it was. Wow everything is at the same time, last week I started my Auto-mechanics school(which I will be in for the next 16 months), then yesterday I buy a car, and today is my b-day lol.

Re: My new Civic

Congratulations on the car, man

However, the average mileage is around 12,000 a year... Your car is 12 years old, your mileage is not great, it's actually about 20,000miles too high. But it shouldn't be a problem.

Five rust spots? The body needs to be repainted? 163,000miles? I REALLY hate to say it man, but that car doesn't sound like it's worth $2,000.

I hate to be the Dick here... But that's honestly how I feel.

Re: My new Civic

actually he said it was in KM not miles, so 160000km is equil to about 99419miles. so average would be 144K. so it actually is a low mileage car. as far as the rust goes, is it ROT or surface rust? 2g's may actually be a better deal than you thought Wes.... but it depends on the body.. either way.. if your happy...good find.

Re: My new Civic

I think that's probably pretty good, I'm not sure about the miles/km conversion of the US $ to CN $. I paid $1750US for my '94 CX with no rust and 164,000 miles. So that's really not too bad, you probably could have gotten it for a few hundred dollars cheaper though. And you've got a better engine than I do, I have the 70hp one where you've got the same one as the DX/LX models.

Re: My new Civic

Oh sorry, I wrote that before I saw your post. It takes me a while to get things from my head to my typing fingers I had to re-read the post when I realized the km thing and that he was from Canada.

Re: My new Civic

No, in Canada the CX has the same engine as the DX/LX models, it has 102hp. I'm not sure about the other differences (like standard or optional features). Us in the states got screwed with our CX's.
