2000 sunfire 2.2l Not starting
Two months ago my sunfire would not start after work.Spark OK Fuel pump was comming on.It would roll over but nothing.
Towed it to a friends about 10 minutes away to change fuel filter when we got in the yard it started. ther has been no problem since and today it did it again is there some way of resetting the computer or security mode??? |

If the security light is on, turn the ignition key to the on position and leave it on for 10 minutes, turn off for 30 seconds and turn on for another 10 minutes. Do this three times after the third time try to start the car. Should start. If you have another OEM key try that, it will work sometimes.

no luck
the security light comes on when u turn the key on but goes off the battery and oil light stays on guess ill tow it around again maybe the fuel pump presure is not enough |

i believe you are having the same problem as me, what i do to get it to start is to wiggle the key while trying to turn it over, if that does not work i put it to the on position and shift it into gears and then back to park then keep on turning the key and eventually it will turn, but i have a question, when you try to start it does the engine do anything at all?

my car did same thing it acts like fuel pump but it is not its actually the sock on the fuel pump is collapsing and needs to be replaced
