Early 90's Celica + 3SGTE

Hi,

I was reading in another forum and they were talking about sleepers and one of the guys mentioned a early 90's Celica with a 3SGTE. Well, if I did this, how fast would it be? I know there's no way to no for sure but an estimate would be great.

Thank you!

Re: Early 90's Celica + 3SGTE

this is a difficult and expensive swap but the performance is worth it. if u swap a u.s. 3sgte u will have 200 hp. if you swap a jdm version you will have 225 hp. with the jdm you will run mid 14s maybe low 14s if you swap it into a gt or gts if you swap it into an st you will run low 14s maybe 13s im not sure. the 3sgte will be easy to get more power out of. you could buy a boost controller and turn the boost up for alot of horsepower.

Re: Early 90's Celica + 3SGTE

look at the stickyd thread how to swap a 3sgte, itll give cost figures...over in toher websites the average is about 2500, but thats if yuou do it urself, about 4000 if you have a mechanic do it

and btw if you leave it stock when you swap (dont know why youd do that) itll run a 14 like black said, but all you really need is a boost controller, goto 15 psi but you have to cap the Map vaccum line to be able to go past 12 psi (fuel cut). youll hit mid 15's easy as long as your not runnig on the stock radials and atleast have semi decent tires...

theres a guy at that 6thgen site that had a swap in his gt, a 3' Dp and 3' exhaust, falken azenis, and running at 14psi (dunno why he dint goto 15 psi) and ran a 12.8 ...
