help,hard to start (5.3 2001 4x4)

help. truck is hard to start. checked fuel pressure (45 psi) is this ok? check EGR valve. check ground strap. after starting it runs good but hot or cold . Its hard to start.(just cranks over). Thanks for any input .Randy, PS 2001 5.3 v8 4x4 with 60000 miles

Have that battery tested. Otherwise:

I can't recall, but 45 psi sounds ok. The fuel pressure regulator develops a tiny leak on the 5.3 and is a very cheap do-it-yourself.

Indeed I had same problem with my 2000 Silverado 4x4 As stated check on a fuel pressure regulator. a new one solved my problem
