I have a 94 with the 318. I put dual flowmaster super 40's and the K&N air intake kit on it. Noticed a small increase in power. Stock that motor is supposed to make 200 HP, so I'm probably at 220 or 230 tops. The only other thing I can think of is one of those computer programers. I would do it to mine but there only for 96 and up vechicles. Don't know about the electric fan, I don't know of anybody that has done that.

Will a throttle body spacer work on my '86 Ram with 318, and is it a good idea?

if its fuel injected no. If its got a carb then yes.

If you do try the elec. fans post the info here. I was looking into doing that as well.

I am getting the electric fan kit, its easy to install. Ill post pics as i do it, ive done it to a friends dodge diesel. Adds UP TO 30 hp and the kit is less than 500. Also the mopar performance computer and k&n air intake setup is good too.

Where did you get the kit from? I haven't been able to find any for dodge's.

220hp? i doubt it. MAYBE 220 under perfect driving conditions.

Re: Re: Re: Re: performance parts that give H.P. ?

Summitt racing sells it. Its flex-a-lite and i think the number is 290. Im not 100 percent sure of the number, but i believe thats it. Its a universal setup, two 15 inch fans. It comes with a bunch of brackets. The hardest thing to do during that installation is relocate the overflow bottle and washer jar. Other than that, the instructions included are pretty helpfull.

I just looked it up and I was indeed wrong. The 318 makes 220 horse and the 360 makes 230. So my truck is probably in the 240 range.

Re: performance parts that give H.P. ?

I've got my Dodge Ram brochure right here.

318cid - 230hp@4400
360cid - 245hp@4000

And it says the SS/T's have a 250hp 360cid.

Ok you listed 2 mods. Unless you have more your not pushing 20 hp over stock. So unless you've added mods since then i will doubt and say you dont have 20 HP from an intake and exhaust.

The engine has been rebuilt, bored .020 over, bigger cam, new pistons. Still doubt it?

And I never said I gained 20 horse from those two things. I said there was a small increase in power from those two things. Guess I could have been more clear on that.
