Converting E30 to a Turbo Car

If anyone has done an E30 Conversion would you be so kind as to post whether or not you did it from Scratch, or from a purchased Kit ??

I am most interested in the computer aspects of this.
I helped a freind a few years ago put on a Turbo on the older E seried car, which had no real computer issues to wory about.

How sophisticated is the cars computer in the E30 series.
Do you have to get it reprogrammed etc etc

Standard turbo upgrades I guess??... better spark and more fuel

never heard of this being done before on a 3er bimmer, but you would have to change the pistons at the least and maybe the con rods and crank too as the compression ratio would be way too high for a turbo'd car.

re: computer, yes the fueling would need to be remapped too.
