Windshield Noise (2005 Suburban)

I have a noise that sounds like rain hitting the windshield (when it’s not raining ). It is at speeds above 60 and seems to depend on which way the wind is blowing.

Any ideas?

The plastic grill that goes across your truck, between the hood and the windshield is probably the culprit. On either side, there is about a 6" piece that has a tab that slides into the main, middle section. There is also a screw holding this piece to the body.

Grab each of these trim pieces and see if there is any movement. If so, remove them, wrap the tab in some electrical tape - enough to make a snug fit, and reassemble.

Mine drove me crazy for about two years! I hope I'm steering you in the right direction.
