Re: Best Security For Your Car??

im going all out , im goign to purchase a detachable Hub or my steering wheel and then im buying a silent security dvice and then im geting thats lock for your clutch peddle that holds it down and locks it their ( like the Club for your steering wheel).

i think it would take some seriously SKILLED mother F***ers to steel my car after all that.

If they really want the car, nothing. However, the more difficult you make it for them, the less they are encouraged to attempt it.

If you have an item like the club in place. A sticker that says you have "Lojack" installed. The are less likely to attempt the theft of your vehicle. Keep the vehicle parked in a high visibilty area that is well lit at night.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Re: Best Security For Your Car??

DONT GET CODEALARM!!! I installed my shit. Drained my battery like 4 times. Then, the knock sensor on the alarm was faulty, then the main control unti went out. It still kinda works, but it drains my battery. It's still installed and all set to go, just not fused up, so it don't work. CRAP!!

Re: Best Security For Your Car??

1) Viper 791XV. One smart ass car alarm. 2-way responder, and you can upgrade to add prox sensor modules, amongst a host of others. Excellent range and features. Will let you know everything that goes on around your car. False alarms are limited if you decrease the prox sensor sensitivity.

2) Custom kill switch. Just place it in a hidden location inside the cockpit.

3) The club. Old school deterrent. Use it to either lock up your wheel, or lock up a theif's skull. The carjacker should realize its going to take time to cut the wheel. One more PITA.

4) Lo-Jack stickers/LEDs. Advertise a little. Let me know that it's gonna be a PITA getting away unnoticed with all the security in your ride.

4) Parking locations. One of the key factors on the list, yet the most underrated. Park in well-lit areas that are not desolate and cut-off from civilization. Walk a little towards where you have to go if necessary. Theives hate being in the spot-light, and will think twice before attempting a stunt. Going to a ghetto area, infamous for grand theft auto and such? Take your brother's 92 Accord or your mom's minivan. Leave the DSM at home.

5) Motor/Engine/Ign/ECU/Batt fuse. Pop the hood and take out a major fuse if youre in a really bad area. Unless the theif carries that specific amp and size fuse with him in his pocket at all times, your car's not going anywhere.

6) Face-plate removal. Don't tempt them. If you have an aftermarket stereo with a removable face-plate, make use of it.

Eagalicious basically summed it up:

Sphyder I completely agree with you. If a car thief really whats your whip he'll find a means to take it regardless. My thoughts were geared toward reading what some of my brothers on the board are doing so as to compile my own combination of things to secure my car a little better. You listed some good ideas.

Question, Where would I be able to get a LoJack sticker?

Re: Best Security For Your Car??

I have been searching for LoJack stickers for a while on E-Bay , but I havent been able to find a single one. Get a custom one made that says "Protected by LoJack" or something from one of the many custom decal places in the mall or on the web. They design to spec.
