c.a.i.
i was wondering if anyone knows the diameter of the bottom pipe of a c.a.i. intake. i am thinking of making my own using exhaust pieces. or i just might do the ram air by cutting into my hood and putting a scoop on it. i would like some opinions on which would be better. also i dont have foglamp holes its a 92 sc2 so for cold air where would i go with the filter.

hey sierra you say you prefer ram air did you cut out a hole for a scoop or do you just have the warm air intake. i know that whole argument about the water being sucked in. on the fence about that one. thanx

Re: c.a.i.
i have just a short ram/WAI intake, i hope some day to make my own fiberglass hood with a scoop(since someone kicked in my hood anyway). i also briefly played around with the idea of a ram air headlight set-up, but never finished it.
keep in mind the idea behind both CAIs and ramair is to not suck in the hot underhood air and reduce airflow restriction. the actual ram air "supercharging" effect won't increase your manifold pressure above atmoshperic pressure until somewhere just shy of 1/2 the speed of sound.

i remember reading about a 95 eclipse non turbo c.a.i. off of ebay would work i just have to rig it. is this true cause those things are cheap. you know spending over 200 bucks for something that may give you a little horsepower just doesnt work for me.

Re: c.a.i.
it will work if you don't have a automatic transmission.
