Brake lights wont shut off!!!
Hi, I've got a 90 K2500 that the brake lights stay on ALL the time. Have to pull the fuse to shut them off. Also the parking brake dash light stays on too. And when I tried the flashers they come on and dont blink. {Turns work good though} Pulled all bulbs and put all new. R/Rear t/lt board looked a tad dark at B/Lt socket. I cleaned it up. Could the board be bad? I unplugged it and my other B/Lt still stays on. I pulled the B/Lt switch and they still stayed on. Any help would be appreciated. Cant stand electrical probs

Re: Brake lights wont shut off!!!
check to see if the switch on the break petal is connected and adjusted right, sometimes there set to high and they will always stay on, also check for a wire grounding out where it shouldnt, thats all i can think of

Re: Brake lights wont shut off!!!
Sounds like you have a short in the system--Check brake/turn wiring harness by the front wheelwell where it attaches to frame to see if rubbing on front wheelwell sharp edges--sometimes this is a problem

All fixed. Found that another switch mounted right behind the pedal and under the brake light switch had hit the brake light switch adjusting lever. I dont know what this other switch does. It's a square black plunger and the wires go to the brake light switch mounted on the pedal arm. It's unplugged now and everything seems to work good. Anybody know what this switch is for. Gonna call GM and ask them if no one knows.......Thanx
