Just installed my S14 Zenki SR20DET into my 95 S14. Got everything doen today but it wont crank. Checked all the wires and stuff. Theres power goin through and the alternator is gettin power too, but still wont crank. Been doin a lot of troubleshooting. I checked the FSM and it says that the starter fuse in the car is always hot. When I test it with a test light it has no power though. Anyone have any suggestions or other things i can check. Wont crank at all. Thanks

Re: Re: SR20DET Won't Crank
i know that u checked this already but just in case i have a few ideas. make sure that you r using the ground plug off of the SR tranny harness the ka doesnt fit down far enough to make good contact. also make sure that you connected the positive ring connector to the outermost brass bolt comming off of the starter (closest to the right side of the car {pass. side on a USDM}). now here are a few questons. when u turn the key does it click , not like a bad starter click but a lot quiter comming from the relay boxes. you need to check into testing your battery. the sr pulls more power from the battery then the KA did. an easy way to check if that is the issue is to jump the battery from another car. if that isnt it let me know and i will try and help you figure it out.

Re: SR20DET Won't Crank
if the starter dont even "click" you might have a faulty cam angle sensor and/or crank angle sensor , if those are defective the ecu will not permit the starter to engage. Thats my 2 cents
best of luck |
