I called to quote a price to replace my alternator, they show two alternators with different amp ratings. I want to know how to find out how many amps my alternator is.

Re: 94 Galant ES

I could look at my alternator and let you know which one i have on my 94ES, but it is all eroded by Wisconsin road salt.

i would get the higher one.(unless the connectors are different.

the higher amperage is a capability not capacity.
Amps are not created by the alternator they are consumed by the circuit.
