Problems with 1982 Toyota 4x4 pickup
1. Truck has 22R and I have an exhaust leak. I took the shroud off of the exhaust manifold and it was black inside. I can crank the truck and it will blow exhaust on my hand from the back bottom side of the manifold. What is involved in replacing the exhaust manifold gasket, and if needed the manifold itself?
2. Truck will start and run good most of the time. Other times it will not Idle and if you depress the accelerator it runs rough. I suspect the EGR is involved due to problems I had with an S-10 blazer. Could it be the EGR or the probe in the converter? Any Ideas will be greatly appreciated. Eddie |

Re: Problems with 1982 Toyota 4x4 pickup
Leaking exhaust manifold can cause performance problems. It can also cause burned exhaust valves.
Look at a repair manual and see what steps are to be taken. Overall the job shouldn't be too difficult. Let your truck sit for a day before taking the manifold off, this help in avoiding warping. |

Re: Problems with 1982 Toyota 4x4 pickup
A bad EGR valve will cause it to run rough.
Sounds like you're on the right path.
