Buying a 106 gti

Hi all, this is my first post here as I'm just about to buy a gti but wanted some advice first.

I've found a 98 diablo red 106 gti with 64,000 on the clock, fpsh, half leather and sports exhaust. Everything seems to be perfect except the engine, although doesnt smoke, doesnt sound that smooth at idle plus its hunting a little bit, is this normal, expensive to fix etc?

Would really appreciate your help and any other suggestions or tips on what to look out for as I dont pick

thanks all
