420A upgrades. how much hp?

yo, my cuzin just got a 99 eclipse GS with the 420A motor in it and he was researching some easy bolt on power additions. He wanted to add a cold air intake, new cams, and a full exhaust system, header back. How much total hp and torque do you think he will gain, because he checked this bogus site that said that it would only add a total of 4.2 total hp. thats bull $hit isnt it? let me know, thanx

Re: 420A upgrades. how much hp?

Yeah, you get alot more than that. I've got about 170hp or so with my mods.

The stock 420 (with stock internals) can handle up to, i believe, 210hp@crank before you start having some problems.

In this order, get these boltons:
Intake
Exhaust
Ignition (plugs, coil, wires)
Underdrive pulley
Flywheel, clutch
Cams, Cam gears
Fuel, Tuning

This will get you up there.

That list looks pretty good, as long as a header is included in the exhaust package. Don't expect to breach the 200 hp mark unless you turbo the beast. It would take a lot more money and some pretty heavy duty mods to get past 200 hp without a turbo.

"some pretty heavy duty mods to get past 200 hp without a turbo."

That's what I'm doing!
