Angry 1998 suburban A/C

I need some help. I replaced my old compressor with a new one. The old on had a leak at the front seal. I replaces the oriface tube, and the expansion valve in the rear of the vehicle, and replaced the accumulator drier. I then evacuated the system for 40-50 min. down to -29. I have no leaks and the neg. pressure held. I recharge the system with 4 lbs 4 oz. it called for and I still can't get cold air. The best I get is 60 deg. while the vehicle is being driven. and it goes to 80 deg. at idle. The ambiant temp is around 100 deg. Also my pressures are running around 60-65 lbs on the low side and 225-250 lbs on the high side. Is this normal???????

Your results are not normal.

As a suggestion you might want to also post your question here:

Had a problem similar to this after the dealer replaced the compressor, unfortunately for me only the compressor was covered by warranty. When i was on the freeway i'd get temps around 70-80, and when idling i'd get temps 90-100+ sometimes even when on the freeway. So I replaced the reciever dryer, and the Evaporator, and reflushed my system. Basically I just replaced every piece of equipment in the AC system minus the pipes. Also if you don't use the gm recommended fluid to flush your system you run the risk of voiding your warranty. After replacing all that stuff I had the dealer recharge my system, now it works perfectly.

By the way how did you do the expansion valve in the back, I got so frustrated with it that I just cut a hole in the plastic casing then put back the piece I cut out and resealed it with silicone.
