Did the opposite, went from power to standard type, but a short black one on a black Eclipse. Take the trim out on the side the antenna is on and then the back piece that runs the lenght of the tail lamps, you have good access then to the area, how you are going to wire it I have no idea but I got you to the point of being able to take out the old one.

I think the power antenna is pretty sweet. That way nobody can come along and just snap it off because it's buried in the car. Plus, the car looks sexier without having a huge antenna always out, it gives the car a sleeker look. Go for it man, it's your time and money.

Re: Converting to Power Antenna
i would also just stick with your stock one b/c the power antennas are so big when the are up, and as for people snapping the regular antenna off, they can just bend the power antenna and then it wouldn't work, but i dont know why anyone would do that. My power antenna broke off in the car wash b/c i forgot to turn radio off, so i think im going to do what Carolina did.

Re: Converting to Power Antenna
Do they sell those window antennas that look like a rear defroster as an aftermarket part? that would be sweet, i know my mom's accord has it, but i can't find any aftermarket ones. Anyone know if they make them?

Re: Converting to Power Antenna
I just took mine out completly. The car looks way better in my opinion without it sticking up. I get the same quality of radio so its the same without the antenna. Power antenna's have been said to break a lot. Anyways you are gonna sell the car so i advise you to spend money on something else, maybe a paint job or clean the interior so people would pay more for your car.
