Question location of Computer module 96 explorer

I just bought a 96 explorer Eddie Bauer and I am trying to find out where I can get the code to use the keyless entry pad on the door. The book says that I can get it on the Computer Module but I am not too sure where that is. Please Help me

Re: location of Computer module 96 explorer

It is on the Pass side on the firewall. There is a big harnes that plugs into it.

It is under the trim panel on the driver side rear. Take the jack cover off and get a flashlight. The white box will have 5 numbers along the bottom that is your code.

Took the cover off.. I see black box.. grey box.. and window washer fluid container... where would this white box be? Does something have to be removed? I did not see any numbers on either of the boxes....

Well I did it! The box was grey and it was facing the trim..There was no way to see it so I had to pull the side trims back with my hands and it was just enough to see the numbers. I tried to get mirrors in there.. but that wasn't happening... All and all.. it took very little effort.. Thanks for all your help.
