Hello,
Is there a hardware store key blank (ILCO, etc.) that works for Trialblazers or do factory keys have chips/transponders in them? If non GM keys can be used, does anyone know a code or number for them? I have a 2002 Trailblazer LT. Thanks in advance for any information. Gary |

There is no chip in your key. If you go to a hardware store and get a key blank for you model year GM car they will work. I found a seller on ebay that offered 03 key blanks for a chevy Malibu for dirt cheep and ordered 4 blanks they fit my wifes Malibu and my trailblazer no problems the hardware store even cut them for free. I don't think that that seller is allowed on ebay any more, to many negitive feedback so I just happen tp luck out.Hope this helps

Thanks for the information. I want to get some spares made for my wallet, etc. that have the smaller top (without the big plastic circle). Our local store doesn't have any charts, they just go with factory numbers. The Trailblazer key doesn't have any numbers or letters on it.
I just found the code by clicking on one of the links below. Last edited by gtzim; 08-07-2005 at 09:36 PM. |
