2000 Suburban - fan like noise even though vehicle is off

The Wife gets home from the grocery star and even though the car is off there is some kind of fan that is still running - now it has been 30 minutes. The only unusual occurence was earlier in the day she drove through about 3 inches of water and the ABS light came on for a bit. Is there a fan that dries the breaks? In 5 years I have never heard this sound.

Fuel pump wont shut off maybe? Where is the noise coming from?

It is hard to tell, it almost sounds like it is coming from the center of the vehicle and not the engine.

Sounds like the abs pump. See http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...light=abs+pump

You were right - it was the ABS pump. I took out the fuse for the ABS system and the abs pump shut off.

I was thinking about waiting until the end of the month to get the pump fixed - just juggling some finances you know. Do you think it would be kosher to go without ABS until then? The regular brakes & brake lights are working fine.
