Droppping Diff and Skid Plates

The SLR lift requires lowering the front diff by 5/8-3/4". Does anyone know if this requires lowering the skid row plates? Would I just need longer U-bolts, or is there more to drop.

Have the MAXC guys thought about this in their pursuits of suspension lifts? You're the ones with the most skid plates.

yes we have. and Kennedy actually has these 2 things in place. he was able to ge the skid plates back on, but according to him, he had to bend them around the dropped diff and bolt them in. so the diff sits directly against the skid plates. i don't know enough, but that doesn't sound that good to me. but i don't know. i personally will not be putting that lift on cause the skid plates are more impportant for me. i'd rather use the upper a-arms and ball joints from calmini or AC. once i get some money is when i will decide that part.

Have you guys talked to Eric at Skid Row about any ideas he might have for retrofitting the skids with a lowered diff?

Either put spacers in or weld in spacer panels.

Speaking of lifts, I'm psyched, I just ordered the A-arms/ball joints/idler arm brace from AC, hoping to get them and put it all in this weekend (along with new front shocks assuming those get here in time...otherwise they can be put in later I guess.)

Yeah.. I was thinking some of those nifty half inch spacers that came with the plates would do the trick. Just weld them into place where the u-bolts run through the plate.

Something I thought about when you remove your stock ball joints from the steering knuckle.... you will probably have better luck if you cut the boot off first. The seperation should be easier with metal to metal contact.
