Need help to figure out what is wrong with my 97 taurus. Wheel and tire is fine brakes fine. Took wheel off and it has some play in the outer axle with the two cv boots. more than the other side. need to know what it is and how much roughly in cost area. could this be the problem?

Be sure that you have totally eliminated the wheel/tire! Swap it with another to make sure. The looseness you are describing is likely not to cause a vibration.

How many miles?? probably a wheel bearing, for replacement it needs to be pressed out, can either take out spindle and bring it to a machine shop, OR bring the whole car to a front end shop. Cost probably 3 hours plus parts, doing it urself 1/2 hour plus parts. Frontend shop can prbably do it on the car.

Taurus' are nitorius for wheel bearings going at 60k - 70k. does it go away when u go around a corner?? or does it decrease as u go around a left or right turn?? sorry about the 2 posts hit post before i remembered this.... sorry.
