Unhappy does anyone else's cars pull to a side

so i have taken my car to the dealership 3 times in the last week. they are trying to see why it is pulling while driving. they said that it isnt the alignment and say it is bad tires. so they test drove all their spec v's and said all of them pull. so now i have to wait while they go back and forth with nissan to see if nissan is going to do a recall on their continental tires

please tell me if anyone else is having problems

Yes, I have had the same problem. I took it in and they adjusted the alignment but that made it pull to the other side. I have no idea what the hell is the problem. They say it isn't a problem, but I don't buy it. Even my dad says it pulls. Oh well what can we do about it?

they called me and gave a bulls#*t answer saying that it isnt there problem and it is the tire makers, i asked if alignment had anything to do with it and they said they are 85% sure it is the tires, and said since my car has so little mile that they will give me 2 for free

gee thanks

Which way are your cars pulling?

You may want to contact Continental and tell them what the dealer is saying. Also, contact Nissan themselves. Although I had asked them a question 2 weeks ago on their website, and have yet to get an answer. They say they respond in 72 hours!

Yeah, right!!

Yeah my Spec V is pulling to the right.

Actually when I had my pathfinder, on the first few days it pulled to the side as well (dont remember which side).

I'm thinking that the alignment with me in the car might be necessary.

Ok maybe I needed to reword what I wrote.

My Spec-V pulls a little to the right at 65mph at a steady state (no acceleration or decelaration).

I dont do burn outs, I keep the rpms under 4k. I short shift when I can, because I'm still breaking the car in.

I have no regrets about buying the car, there is torque everywhere and handles like a dream. I get nothing but complements from my co-workers. Its alot of /miles.

ok i know what torque is and it pulled to the left pretty har, and so nissan swapped the tires to the other side and it pulled even harder to the left, after taking it in one more time they fixed it, but are still saying i am having the problem, so i think they just moved the two bad tires to the rear

Well, at least they have their story together. My Spec is pulling to the right. It was pulling to the left and I brought it in for an allignment... Got the same story. "It's the tires" They rotated them for me and It's now pulling right insted of left. The pull is not as drastic now but it still sucks.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one having this problem. I just bought my Spec-V a week ago and after three days I took it back to Nissan and told them it needed an alignment. The service manager took it for a test drive and told me it was "torque pull". He assured me that this was normal for all of the Spec-Vs and that I should check my tire pressure just in case. He did admit that it was pulling to the right due to "torque pull" but I think he was full of it. I don't think "torque pull" happens when you are just traveling down the road at a steady rate of speed.
The thing that pissed me off was that the service guy didn't even want to inspect anything on my car, he told me it was normal and said have a nice day. Is it really normal for this car to do this?

I've had my spec-v since March. It pulled a little for the first 300 Miles at higher speeds, but it seemed to go away provided I checked the air pressure levels. I've put over 7000 miles on it and I drive it pretty hard. The only problem I've noticed is that it burns oil. Obviously that can happen when a car is driven harder, but Nissan said that this is a problem with the Spec-V's and they're still looking into what's causing it. Has anyone else noticed their car burning oil? (Excessively?)

(My car had less that a quart of oil left in it when I brought it to Nissan for it's first oil change at 3500 miles. The service department told me there was no evidence of burn-off or leakage. The second time they checked it for a consumption test at 7000 miles and that's when they said there was a known issue with the Spec-V's)

Other than that, this car rocks. It's a lot of fun to dust a base mustang at 90 MPH and then see the dumb look in the guys face from your rear view mirror as he fades into the distance.

My car ended up needing an alignment. The dealership insisted that they come perfectly aligned from the factory but my car did need adjustment after checking out the specs. Now it drives just fine. I too have heard that these cars can burn oil, according to the dealership, it is possible to burn about a quart for every 1000 miles driven. It all depends on how hard you drive it too. It will burn more initially during the break in period then it should burn less after that. I haven't noticed it personally but I only have 900 miles on mine.

Spec v "problems"

sup all, just a note...the "problems that everyone has been experienving may not be problems at all. ALL new cars consume oil until the engine is "broken in" Usually for the first 2 -3 oil changes everyone should see some oil consumption so make sure you have enough oil in your car. And for the cars pulling right...almost all cars pull one way or another (ususally right) until it's been driven for awhile; usually til after the first oil change.

Hope this clears up a few things
Peace

guys, the tires are directional meaning with tire rotations, you should be moving them front to back and vice versa, never side to side. What you SHOULD check for though is if the tires are mounted correctly on both sides for front and back. For example, if the tires are mounted like:
/ /
/ /

then i believe it will pull to the right

make sure the tires are mounted such that the tread is like:
/ \
/ \

this will ensure most stability at various speeds and in a way acts as "toe-in". Anyhow, just read the sidewalls of the tires, there should be some sort of indication showing you how they should be mounted.
