supercharger and nitrous

Hello all, I am trying to get an answer to a question. What is the better approach to nitrous on a air to water/water to air intercooled supercharged system? The vehicle in question is the Saturn Ion Redline. The car has a 2.0L supercharged motor out of the factory. I called NOS and Nitrous Express and they both say to use wet kits before the blower. Dry is not recommended, and the direct port approach is not recommended either. So the concern/question is spraying the fuel/N20 mixture before the supercharger. Is this an acceptable approach? I have been told that the fuel may pool on the intercooler fins, or the fuel may "explode" as a result of travel through the supercharger.

Would somebody please straighten this matter out for me/us? Thanks

Re: supercharger and nitrous

Im not that great with nitrous questions but i would either run a dry system right after the intercooler, or run direct port. I dont see why they would say to run it before the IC because i think it would just pool up, but i also dont see why they would say dry and direct port are not recommended. But if that is right, it shows why i dont work with any nitrous systems..

I was told that dry is bad because there would be a lack of fuel and the car would run lean.

I was told direct port was bad because of the high pressures that exist at the cyclinder, problem could arise spraying into the high pressure.

Alas, I keep searching and hoping to get a solid answer, but thanks for the input.

Re: supercharger and nitrous

now, im no nitrous expert, but from what i understand, if the concern is the engine running lean, then just upgrade the fuel system and tune the ecu, or air/fuel meter and that should solve the problem.

as for placement, i havent a clue, but if i had to guess, id put it right in front of the throttlebody

Re: supercharger and nitrous

At the moment there is no tuning the ecu! little is available at this time since the car itself is only entering its 3rd season

Re: supercharger and nitrous

I'd say run a wet system after the intercooler, dry systems aren't as reliable plus it take a fraction of a second for the computer to detect the extra oxygen so for that time the engine is running lean, plus if you don't tune your ecu properly, you'll run lean and hurt your engine. wet systems are safer and more reliable than dry but also more complicated and expensive than dry systems. i don't know why they wouldn't suggest direct port other than it might be to expensive.

Re: supercharger and nitrous

DONT USE WET! Man for the love the the blower dont use a wet shot. The question of a nitrous backfire isnt if, its when. Roots superchargers arent designed to have liquids flowing through them. If you run gas through it and have it puddle in the blower and that gas catches on fire, kaboom. Say buh bye to your supercharger. You can run a wet shot on a directport, dont run it before the supercharger though. Also a dry shot its pleanty safe to run before the charger if you have the car properly tunned.
