Maisto tricks Mistro?

lmao never really noticed how both names were quite similar. But anyways, I am quite pissed off at the model that I just bought.

A 1/18 scale Maisto Dodge Viper SRT-10. Its a diecast model so I got it together in less that half an hour. The problem? Six pieces are missing!

This includes both side view mirrors, the rearview mirror, the steering wheel column support (the thing with the wiper and light controls) and those little loop things behind the headrests. At first I was planning to just make the sideviews the best I could myself, but then as I realized that more and more parts were missing, I gave up on that idea. I just sent an email to Maisto, but is there anything else I can do?

The store (K-Mart) won't accept it back because the plastic has been opened ... Well no s* ! How do I know that a part is missing without opening it?

Any ideas on what to do? Do you think that Maisto might respond and send me replacement parts?

Re: Maisto tricks Mistro?

Diecast goes to diecast forum...Anyway, take that shit back with your reciept and order them to get you the manager. Tell them they sell stuff that is missing parts. They will accept or feel your wrath!..Or, all that, but nicer. Try emailng Maisto. Tell them they sell stuff with missing parts. Tell em how you want those parts they forgot to give you ni the 1st place.

Re: Maisto tricks Mistro?

Sorry if this post seems misplaced. I figured that although the model itself is diecast, the issue is not really related to only diecast models themselves and some of you might have had the same problem with other models aswell (or prehaps this same model)

Kinda same problem. AMT won't give out replacement parts. They reccomend you take the open kit to the store and have the store settle their F up...That's just bad buisness. Most other model companies let you purchase the parts. Pretty much sucks, but o well.
