Question 2002 Sable Key Code

Hi, I just bought a 2002 Sable and the used car dealership could not provide the numeric keypad code. I've seen the posts for the location of the factory-set 2003 Sable Key Pad code, is it the same for the 2002?
The owner's manual says to look for a 5 digit code on the fuse box. After 10 minutes on my back with a flashlight I've had no luck yet.

Thanks,
Liz

---------------------- excerpt from 2003 Sable post
If you are referring to the 5 digit code to open the door using the keypad on the driver's door, then here is what you need.

On the back of the fuse block, under the dash on the driver's side. There is a small white plastic tab that sticks out about 1/4 inch. On that tab is a printed 5 digit code which is the factory preset for that car. It is facing backwards, so be sure you read it that way. Just punch in that 5 digit code on the keypad and the door will open.

i have a 97 sable and i had the same problem you did...grab the flashlight and get on your back again because the code is above the gas pedal above the driver's side footwell. follow the gas pedal up and you will come to a gray box with plugs and wires coming out of it. if you pull the box toward you and look on the side opposite to you, you should see a sticker that covers most of the side of the box...there will be five numbers on the sticker that are bigger than any other letters or numbers on it...that is your code and i hope you find it
