Talking Some stuff about me -aka waxgirl

Hi, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Lesley and here’s a little bit about me:

I started out as a little girl practically growing up on the back of her dad’s dirt bike. Sitting in the theater along side him for the umpteenth matinee of On Any Sunday. Living in, what I called, the “Cool-Aide” house because every kid in the neighborhood was always there. Not, for a cool refreshing drink, but to have their bikes and later their cars worked on by my dad. So I guess I could say, cars (and other things motorized) are in my blood.

About 10 years ago I began to work with a guy who was a car fanatic. He started racing go-karts by the age of nine and went on to race fuel altereds and funny cars. He's also a Ford factory-trained mechanic, at one time owned his own custom paint and body shop and has also owned ten corvettes (not all at the same time.)

About two years ago we deiced to take our combined passions and turn it into a business. So we started making surface care products that we called Stuf.

Now I’m not here to sell Stuf (I know the rules against selling on the forum). But I wanted this fact known so that I wasn’t accused of shilling or any other deceptive practices. I have been on boards is the past that “looked down” on me just because I was a manufacture. I hope that doesn’t happen here. I just want a place to chat about cars in general and to dispel a myth or two about surface care (and believe me, there’s A LOT of them out there).

In addition to the Stuf thing, my biz partner and I also own and show our 1999 Modified Corvette. It was featured on the August issue of Vette magazine and will be along side us at the SEMA show in Vegas this year.

I'm also a member of Corvettes Limited of Pasadena as well as the National Coucil Corvette Clubs, Inc.

Hope I can become a valued member of AF. Thanks for the great forum.

Welcome to AF, it's nice to hear someone of such a golden background in the auto industry wants to join this site. Hopefully you enjoy this place and stick around for a while. I personally like your background because it's close to what i want to do here after a while. And i like your car..

Re: Some stuff about me.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad to be here.

I was out most of the day Saturday at the Rosebowl with the Vette. She wasn't in competition (too new), but she did get a lot of looks.

Here are some of her modifications:
Body work and custom two-tone Kandy Purple and pearl paint by Mike Face Custom Paint
Ghost flames, traditional old-school pearl flames and pinstriping by 'lil Louie
House of Kolor paint products
ACI body parts
Weld EVO wheels
BF Goodrich tires
Magnuson Intercooled Supercharger
Billy Boat headers and exhaust
Baer Eradispeed brake rotors
SSBC brake calipers
AFE Dual Flow chrome intake
Samco Sport Red Silicone coolant hose system
Autometer dual pod pillar guages

If you like, you can see a slideshow build-out of her here:
