lowering 89 truck fr end

hey i want to lower my 89 truck fr end via torsion bars my question is simble to i turn the bolt clockwise or counterclockwise? and should it be on jack stands or sitting on ground? any other info would be nice thxs

my god please if you are going to do this, for your safety jack it from the frame or crossmember. If you try it on the ground the truck will probably crush your arm if the bolt lets go

good god is right...do it on jack stand...and after you drop the front end back on the ground it wont look lowered...drive forward and backward to let the torsion bars turn down...they have been in the same spot since 89...this is nothin to be messed with...i did it on my truck and just bout totaled my truck...5 turns gets you about an inch...dont drop it more then 10 turns or u risk the bolt stripping and then your in a big mess and the ditch...not fun i know...so dont go more then ten turns and drive back and worth every 5 turns to set to bars slamming on the brake to shock the suspension...and BE CARFUL
