car dies out when driving

i have 2001 1.8t jetta. when i'm driving car suddenly shuts off, i'll put in neutral start up again, and car runs fine this usually happens when its hot out, or once a day i took it to dealer and they replaced fuel pump relay but car still the same, only difference is that the engine light doesn't come on after i start back up when it dies out i've changed fuel filter spark plugs already, duno if its something with the fuel was thinking of putting new fuel pressure regulator.HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM? Re: car dies out when driving

They will probably do the fuel pump next for an amazingly low bazillion dollars!

Cars just dont "shut off". They do die though, like when an alternator takes a dump and cant supply enough voltage to keep the car running.

When does your car "shut off"
