1992 Dodge caravan emissions problems

I have a 1992 caravan that failed Maryland emissions test. What are the most common parts to replace to correct this problem.

Re: 1992 Dodge caravan emissions problems

It depends on what emissions you failed. High hydro carbons and CO usually indicate a bad cat. If you have high NOx then the EGR valve is usually the culprit. Changing the PCV will help some but usually it is not a problem. New O2 sensors can clean up the system too as you will not burn as much fuel due to the engine running more efficiently.

Please let us know what happens once you get it repaired.
