89 Axles

Heres my next problem i just got everything straight on the lowering kit and the rear on the other blazer was pretty much screwed. Its a 89 s10 4x4 7.5 inch rear 4.3l and i need to know how many spline axles i have im pretty sure that there 28 spline but i need to double check before i order my posi unit. I cant check my sefl becasue the rear is at the mechanics shop and hes on vacation for the next 2 weeks. another question is 200 a good deal for a complete rebuild of the rear this is just the work its self ive already spent 300 on gears and a rebuild kit. Thanks for any help.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: 89 Axles

It should have 28 splines, I just bought one for my 98. It has 28 splines and the axle is suppose to fit 88 - 98.

BTW Don't buy axles from summitracing.com. They are not the right size. They say that they are direct fit, but the axle is 1/4 inch too long and the diameter is about .020 under which causes the seal to leak.
