engine misses

Dodge Caravan '98 w 2.4L 3spd auto

The engine misses usually when accelerating from 25-40 mph. If the A/C is on it intermittently misses anytime including idle. It hasn't set any codes. I've replaced the plug wires w/mopar, put in the $10 Champion spark plugs and have replaced the coil pack. The fuel filter has been replaced and the fuel system cleaned. I've owned it since new and it has been regularly maintained. It now has 128,000 miles. Other than the miss it runs great. The only thing the mechanic was able to say was that it didn't look like the engine was recognizing that the compressor was on. Has anyone encountered a similar problem or have any thoughts ??

thanks,
Sean

My '00 GC 3.3 had the same problem with missing.
It was very noticeable when idling in gear with the A/C on.
I had about 85K miles on it when it starting missing.
Turned out to be a clogged injector (at least I assume so).
I had a local garage perform a "motor vac" procedure in it.
They remove all of the injectors and soak them overnite in a cleaner.
They also clean the throttle body and decarbonize the cylinders.
The van actually ran smoother after the procedure than when it was new (at least it seemed so after running so rough for a couple of weeks).

I did have the injection system cleaned and the carbon buildup on the head and valves was supposed to be cleaned out at that time also.
