Re: Need help on body prep for paint

Make sure the car is very clean, and don't wax it for at least a month before it gets painted. Fill any dings with spot putty, sand blast any rust, fill it in with spot putty (if theres a hole use fiberglass and resign) Take off all the trim... on the bottom of the doors, grille, headlight doors, chrome around the widows, along the hood and around the wheel wells. Also take off the door handles (leave a window open so you can still get in by using the interior handles) Remove all emblems, including the hood ornament, Caprice Classic wording and the actual Caprice emblems as in my signature. Remove the back lights, and side markers. Then after all this is done... sand with a fine grit sand paper... the whole car (except the windows :-P)
