HICAS LIght!

So I finally bought my first skyline about three weeks ago. Its nice but needs some Love. Its in good shape to be a 15 year old GTR. I was messing with the radio trying to switch it out and move the tach. (the interior needs help, attack of the spray can and bad light)lol. Anyways when I finish with the radio and went to turn off the car the HICAS light flickered on and off and there was a popping noise from under the car. Is this normal for a car with a triple clutch. I haven't heard the noise or see the light before and was wondering if I hit a bad wire somewhere where the radio is. Any help with this would be wondergful. Oh the 4wd light comes on every once and a while but the guy said it was just a bad sensor. would this have anything to do with it?
I reading the other post about the HICAS light I'm just concerned with the popping noise from under the engine witch seemed to flash in sequence with the popping

Totally unusual. The fact you've got a tripple plate clutch has ZERO to do with the HICAS. Odds are if it is flickering, you're power steering fluid is low, bad sensor or broken wire on the level sensor, or a grounding problem with the HICAS computer located in the trunk.

I has a problem with my 4wd light coming on but when that did the ABS light also came on. Mine turned out to be the G-force sensor located under the center councel.

Re: HICAS LIght!

I'm having the same problem with my 1990 R32. The HICAS light came on and its flickering like a christmas light. And when I turn the steering wheel, I feel a pulse going towards the opposite direction and there's a funny noise coming from under the car. Its kinda hard to take the car to a mechanic being here in Japan because of the communication problem. I'm trying to fix this problem myself. Can anyone help me out!!!!

Re: HICAS LIght!

Noise from front end or rear? Might be something simple like the power steering belt. R32's power the HICAS from the power steering pump.
