S2000 year 2000 or Porsche Boxster 1998

I am interested in getting a S2000 year 2000 or a Porsche Boxster 1998. My main two concerns are I want a car that represents my business. Basically when I pickup a client. I want him to look at the car and see tha my company is very well established. Second is I want to be pinned to my seat when starting from a redlight. I don't drive to fast but I am addicted to fast pickup. I want to go from 0 to 60 or 70 as fast as I can. let me know
thanks

Re: S2000 year 2000 or Porsche Boxster 1998

well if you get the boxster, get the boxster S. Other wise get the S2000. S2000 = 240ish hp (some where around there) Boxster = 201 hp. As far as picking up clients both look great, the porsche name might be better to have though. just my opinion.

Yeah, most non biased clients will be more impressed by the Porsche.

I like porsches, but i'm not a big fan of the boxter. Unless it's an "s" get the S2000.

if you want fast pickup get the porsche. ive driven both and the s2k doesnt really hit its power until the mid range, where as the porsche....well.....OMG (if you get the "S").

Remember the outrageous costs of maintaining a Porsche. Just because you get a good deal on the price doesn't especially mean you can afford a Porsche. I've seen it the hard way.

The S2000 is the better car hands down - but the porsche says you have money. If all you care about is to impress your clients, get the porsche. I love my s2000 however, its a wonderful car.

Re: S2000 year 2000 or Porsche Boxster 1998

Two words: Le Car

That's right- Le Car! To your client it says, "I'm confident, secure in my manhood and just a little bit sassy!" And it's got an air of international intrigue. Not to mention the pricetag- around 98% less than both the S2K and Boxster.

But I suppose if you can't find one I'd go with the Porsche...

Re: S2000 year 2000 or Porsche Boxster 1998

I would get the S2000 if you're just looking into regular Boxster, but if its the Boxster S then go for it.

S2000 0-60 mph: 5.5 sec.
Boxster S 0-60 mph: 5.9 sec
Boxster 0-60 mph: 6.5 sec.

Re: S2000 year 2000 or Porsche Boxster 1998

i'd get the s2k over a boxster. the boxster was actually a mistake that Porsche decided to keep around.

gimme a while i needa dig it up. it was an article explaining concepts for the carrera. and the body style chosen (boxster) wasn't the one they meant to choose at all. But decided not to trash the project. and put a new name on it.

Re: S2000 year 2000 or Porsche Boxster 1998

I have an 2002 Honda S2000, and back when I was shopping for it my choices were the S2000 or the 2002 Boxter S.
Definitely go with the S2000. It may be a honda but It's got the world's best 4-cylinder engine, the most hp/liter (120hp/liter), and heck of a lot lighter. It's also cheaper, so if you get and want to go even faster, you'll have money left voer to get engine mods. When the Honda and Porsche (Boxter and Boxter S) are both stock, the S2000 is much faster.
