4cyl performance parts

the 2.3l in the old mustangs, my rangers got a 2.5 but that is the same engine with some lil things done to it to get the bigger displacement... not likely gonna happen, but if we need a lil more power for hauling shit around, where can i find performance parts for that 2.3l?

Re: 4cyl performance parts

Do a search, look for Esslinger Engineering and Racer Walsh, also check out James Duff Enterprises.

The ol' 2.3 originated as a pinto motor, and turbo versions powered various Mustangs, SVO's and T-bird Turbocoupes, and is still used in a lot of dwarf cars on dirt tracks, so your stroked 2.3 has a pretty good following if you know where to look. Dare I say it, there is probably more out there as far as cams, turbos, heads, etc... than there are for the 3.8 V-6. The motor is more durable and has more potential than the six-shooter, too.

Where you're gonna run into some trouble is your 2.5 has the dual-plug, DIS setup, there isn't as much following there. Contact those three places and see what you find. Good luck!
