Re: '96 s10 blazer electrical problems????
Usually that problem means the alternator is shot, or the starter is shorting out causing the juice to drain quickly.
I hope that it's the alternator since the starters are such a pain to replace |

Re: '96 s10 blazer electrical problems????
Get it tested first, and yes it's really a pain to replace.
I've only replaced them on 2.8L 4x4's though so I can't help you out much. It will come out withot pulling the motor but you might have to really study the bottom to figure out the puzzle. Or hope that someone can tell you the easiest way |

I have a 92 blazer, v6, 4.3L, 4x4. To remove the starter on it, I had to remove the front drive shaft (if 4x4), then remove the brake line retainer off of the fly wheel cover, then remove the fly wheel cover, then remove the two wires connected to the starter, then remove the starter by taking out the two bolts. The starter is located underneath on the front passenger side of the transmission. Hopefully a 92 is close to the same as a 96.

Re: '96 s10 blazer electrical problems????
the only 2 differences with my 2.8L is you don't have to remove a drive shaft, but you do have to remove a bolt on cross member

when you take the starter out it would be a good idea to replace the hot and ground wires from the battery just to make sure that is not the problem
