2005 Trailblazer - acceleration / hesitation

I am wondering if anyone has experienced hesitation or stalling when accelerating. We have a new 2005 TB - put the car in drive, and pushed the accelerator - nothing happened until the pedal was about 1/2 way down, then it finally started to go. This has happened twice thus far. We took it to the dealer, and they couldn't duplicate the problem or find any bulletins about the issue. The pedal actually felt limp with no resistance - once the pedal was about 1/2 or more down, the car finally responded and then everything behaved normally. This is a scary problem, since it could pose a serious safety issue.

The second issue is the rear AC return. When running the air (front air only or front and rear - doesnt matter), you get an intermittent squeal that originated around the rear AC return area - gets pretty loud at times. If you shut off the front air, it goes away. I thought it may be the rear AC blower motor squealing, but the noise persists even if the rear air is off.

Any feedback appreciated. The car has less than 1,000 miles on it and I am hoping to avoid chronic issues. We really like the vehicle otherwise...

The gas is "drive by wire" which means there is no physical connection between the pedal and the engine. It is all computer controlled. I would take it back to the dealer and have them check to see if any codes are set. If not, I would talk to the service manager. This is a safety concern!

I had the same thing happen with my 2003 TB EXT. If the dealer can't find the problem, take it to another dealer or independant mechanic. They could never determine what was causing mine to do this. In time my TB began to hesitate and lunge forward. This caused the tires to squeel. My mechanic felt that it was trouble in the transmission. Never got it fixed. Ended up trading the stupid thing in. It winded up having multiple mechanical issues and traded it at 16,000 miles. Good luck.

I had a similar problem with my '04. Dealer finally narrowed it down to a bad O2 sensor after multiple visits. She has run well ever since. Hope the info is helpful.
