Re: ls1?

it could have come with the LS6 block. Something like 1 out of every 4 2001 and 2002 got the better block.

Edit - My percentage may be off but someone may be able to correct me with the actual number but its around 20 %

Re: ls1?

Absolutely yes. Even if it needs a rebuild. Its still worth way more than that.

I agree wth John on this, 450 for an LS1 is wayyyy worth it, I think the block alone is worth more, like 2000 for new.

$450 for the shortblock alone would be a killer deal, unless it has over 80,000 miles.
Brand new LS1 block is around $700, no internals.

2001 F-Body's didn't get any LS6 blocks as far as I know. That was just a 2002 thing.

Re: ls1?

You may be right. But I don't think so.

2001-2002 got the LS6 intake.
Some random 2002 cars, later models, got fitted with an LS6 block as well.
That is how I have understood it to be.

Re: ls1?

Your probably right. I am sure your knowledge on the LS1's/LS6's that were used in the F-bodys is little broader than mine.
