Exclamation 2005 Corolla S..... v6

yeah i wish there was a corolla v6......anyways now that i got your attention lol i really need some help. what is the best way to make a noticeable difference when it comes to performance in a 05 Corolla S? i'm not lookin to spend a lot of money at all, but if necessary i might. i was thinking about changing the air filter as a start (couldnt hurt)...maybe a K&N airfilter. i was also looking into turbocharging the engine and the turbo charger i was looking at was a TRD turbo charger for the 1.8 engine Corolla. The only problem is that it only increases HP to 145 i believe (dont remember exactly)....doesnt really seem worth it....so thats y i'm looking into more efficient and cheaper ways to make more power........................also another concern i have is about the warranty...i dont want to do anything to the car that could void the warranty....not sure what would lead to the warranty getting voided....any information on all this would b greatly appreciated.....thanks

As you know, the best and easiest way to increase power is to enhance your intake and exhaust. The K&N air filter is a great start. You might also want to consider an after market cat-back exhaust, that is, from the catalytic converter back to the exhaust pipe. You may also want to stay with the Toyota performance product line and buy the TRD (Toyota Racing Development) air filter and exhaust. You will not void your warranty by law by simply changing these items. Have fun and happy motoring.

Re: 2005 Corolla S..... v6

I would say TRD supercharger, but that 145 hp rating seems low. Maybe thats wheel hp? The TRD supercharger is said to give the car 160 crank hp (crank hp is the rating rating you always see on most car sites). The TRD SC only pushes 7psi I believe (and 6 on automatic trans applications).

if you would like more information, I suggest visiting www.9thgencorolla.org and searching through SC topics.
