96 Taurus blower motor stays running

The blower motor on my 96 GL stays running after the car is off, tried pulling the blower motor fuse, motor still stayed running.
Any suggestions?

I have 95 sable with a similar prob..the engine stays running also.
I have to pull the coil wire

Contact Ford with the VIN number, check for recall for some of the ignition switches have been known to overheat and melt.
