Wayne, what is it exactly that you are looking for?

There were essentially 3 Gulf liveries, one for each year from 1995 - 1997. The first two years it is fairly easy to narrow down which chassis wore which race numbers if you are looking for that kind of detail. The third year there were three cars and one was always a spare except at LeMans, which made it a bit more difficult as they didn't always have the same car as the spare.

Re: GULF Liveries!!!!!!!!!!!

Peloton,

I was just trying to place the numerous pictures with the correct chassis.

Gulf #6
Gulf #2
Gulf #1 (Blue with Silver)
Gulf #24 (Blue with Silver)
Gulf #16 (Blue with Silver)
Gulf #194

And if it isn't to much trouble, can I get the chassis for the 3 Day off GTR's and the 3 Davidoff GTR's. Are they the same cars?

Thanks
Wayne

Day Off and Davidoff are the same cars - some countries don't allow tobacco advertising in relation to sporting events, so the companies come up with something to replace their name, but it's never far off the original.

Remember in Formula One when the Jordan's were the "Buzzin Hornets" instead of "Benson and Hedges"? Same thing.

I'll get back to you on the other questions unless someone beats me to the answers. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who can help out.

end of 95 test car

At the end of 95, I did design a different Gulf livery for GTC, which was used in testing only with a horizontal orange strip along the side like the old Porsche's, Ford GT40 etc. Luckily a change of heart and with the change of Orange and a non-metallic Blue we ended up with a better livery for 96. Wasnt involved in the 97 one though. A bit too messey in my opinion, but you never turn down sponsors

Actually, right now Jordan doesn't a similar thing. Instead of:

BENSON HEDGES it's
BE ON EDGE

Next time I am in London, the pints are on me. I would love to see your collection of liveries etc. Might be there for the winter Holidays.

I hadn't really been paying much attention to the Jordan's lately - who ever does anymore?

Anyway, I noticed the 'BE ON EDGE' thing at the race that aired after I wrote that and even thought about coming back to change my post.

They aren't that great of a team, but they did finish in 8th today getting 1 point at Spa. This might be the last F1 race in Spa, though, they actually had a loss of $2mm last year and possible $14mm this year.
